Lyttelton SummerFest is a ten day festival that kicks off on Waitangi Day with the latest incarnation of the popular One Love festival: One Love Waitangi Day Sound System at Albion Square.
One of the big events for families is The Big Pirate Picnic Beach Party:
The beloved Natural Magic Pirate Band will entertain including “Lyttelton’s Got Talent”, parachute games and music. Bouncy castle, ice creams and sausage sizzle. Piratical yum and fun!
If you team that up with the Pirate Farmers Market, Corsair Bay beach clean-up and a visit to Lyttelton Library, you’ve got a great Saturday planned!
- Lyttelton Poets’ Open Mic at Wunderbar (Sunday 8 February) Enjoy a night of poetry, stories and laughs at Lyttelton institution, The Wunderbar.
- Outdoor cinema comes to Albion Square with Lyttelton Summer Cinema. A selection of films will be screened. BYO beanbag.
- Tin Palace Gallery and Sculpture on the Point are hosting exhibitions.
- Join poets and story tellers in sharing some songs, yarns and poems at Freeman’s Dining Room and Bar on Wednesday 11 February
