Apart from my own sessions (ahem) I must admit to being immoderately excited that Dave Graney is performing. I discovered him when I was in Brisbane in 2009, and his schtick weighs a ton.

What do you think about libraries?

Libraries for president! I feel the same way about libraries as other people may feel about shopping, or horse-racing, or extreme sports.

Share a surprising fact about yourself.

I once performed a synchronised swimming routine to ‘Stray Cat Strut’ by the Alley Cats. Nose peg and everything.

Dirty Politics has landed as an eBook

A new book by investigative journalist Nicky Hager focuses on the past six years of the John Key-led Government partly through email exchanges between blogger Cameron Slater and National party figures.

It’s been in the news and is already out of print.

So we like many are waiting for the book in paper – but in the meantime we have it as an eBook. Hot off the digital press.

If you want to wait for the paper book you can place a hold. Or read his earlier books.

I am looking forward to meeting Jackie French, the current Australian Children’s Laureate. I would like see a children’s laureate being established in New Zealand.

What do you think about libraries?

Without them a town or suburb would have no soul.

Share a surprising fact about yourself.

A surprising fact about myself? I still like marmite and raspberry jam sandwiches.
