Willis & Aiken: 1902

View in our collection

The company , established in 1887, still exists as PWAGriffin (the PWA stands for Purse, Willis and Aiken).

Here’s an example of their work:

Cabot, Charles Henry, 1890-1978. Gaiety Theatres (Australia), in conjunction with Martin, Doohan & Carroll, proudly present Tex Morton, “the greatest and most versatile entertainer of our time” on stage in person. 3 complete shows in one! Singing! Shooting! Hypnotism! [1950].. [Posters collected by Charles Cabot, for variety, comedy, and music-hall shows and performances in New Zealand. 1950-1959].. Ref: Eph-E-CABOT-Variety-1950-01. Alexander Turnbull Library, Wellington, New Zealand. http://natlib.govt.nz/records/23019301

We have digitised a rather splendid 1902 publication Tourists’ guide to Canterbury.
