Online music to my ears!

It’s New Zealand Music month and a good time to remember that your library has lots of online music resources, most of which you can use anywhere, so long as you have your library card number and PIN.

Music Online is a great starting point. It contains lots of separate collections, and can even search all of them at once. It includes:

• American Song – America’s past and present in song,  from gospel to funk;
• Classical Music Library – tens of thousands of recordings with reference notes
• Contemporary World Music – how about some Arab swing,  Balkanic jazz or Bollywood to get you moving?
• Jazz Music Library – Listen to thousands of jazz artists and genres;
• Smithsonian Global Sound for Libraries – a huge range of the world’s musical and aural traditions.

Naxos Music Library will also fill a gap for music lovers while Central Library is out of bounds.

You can our online resources through the Source from home with your library card number and PIN, or at our open community libraries . Enjoy and “get down” tonight, or any time this month with  Christchurch City Libraries!
