I’m late, I’m late for a very important date

Tim Burton is doing Alice in Wonderland in 3-D!

I love 3-D, it can even make post-George-of-the-Jungle Brendan Fraser watchable. The first pics to whet your appetite are here. It’s due to be released in May 2010.

See what else we have in 3-D.

This movie is going to be great. However, I hear it is a sort of sequel to the novel instead of another retelling. A rich suitor wants to marry her, and the opening scenes of the movie are of her engagement party. But she, of course, gets distracted by a white rabbit. I love Burton’s work, and to see his attention to detail and magical story telling being brought to this particular “Alice” universe makes me very happy!

Mad Hatter—-Willy Wonker, but then I read the caption – it is Johnny Depp. Tim Burton has to be my all time favourite director, I can’t wait.

Sort of a “Sweet Home Wonderland” sort of thing? Hmm, not sure what I think about that…apparently she is “unaware of her previous adventures”… I see Marton Csokas is featuring as Charles Kingsley, presumably not as the author of The Water Babies? Alice’s Dad perhaps? Also Crispin Glover as The Knave of Hearts…mmm…movie will contain one of my all time crushes – check!

This looks amazing! So looking forward to it, to see Tim Burton doing this is fantastic.

Not to be negative – I love Tim Burton and his work and will be lining up to see this. I love the fact that he has chosen Matt Lucas for Tweedledee and Tweedledum but I knew in my heart before looking at the site that Johnny Depp would be the Mad Hatter and Helena Bonham Carter would be the Red Queen – when was the last movie he made without these two?

I know what you are saying Marion – are they the only two good actors in the world? But, they have been pretty good in their past showings and HBC will surely make a GREAT Red Queen. 2003’s Big Fish didn’t have Johnny Depp in it, he must have been busy being a pirate.
