Petersens Ltd Jewellers was established in 1863 by Benjamin Petersen and is New Zealand’s oldest jewellery business. After establishing a shop in High Street, he sold the business in 1914 and moved back to England, where he set himself up in business as a wholesaler in London.
Petersens is now trading in Merivale after being in New Regent Street from 1939 until 2011.
Information from the Petersens website.
